Make Believe a Story brings stories to life using drama, character exploration, music, movement and a treasure trove of props and costumes.

We are professionally trained actors with a wealth of experience between us in working with children, theatre in education, storytelling and performance on stage and screen. Our drama clubs, workshops and interactive storytelling sessions help children to engage their imaginations, build their confidence and develop their acting skills, while having fun and making friends.

We work alongside other industry professionals to bring the very best opportunities and experiences to the children.

Founded by professionally trained actors, Fliss and Cathy, Make Believe a Story offer a variety of drama training and interactive storytelling experiences for children in Rugby and nearby areas. Our goal is to provide children with exciting and educational opportunities to explore their creativity and build confidence through the power of drama. Led by 2 professional actors, we turn a selection of fun and inspiring tales into unforgettable adventures, tailored for each age group.

May drama club
We are excited to confirm that our next action packed drama club will be a1 day club on Tuesday 26th May. It will be a day full of games, improvisations (we will bring our famous props table) and plenty of drama school style acting exercises.
It should be inspiring and a whole lot of fun!
Make friends and have a giggle all while learning something new and developing your skills.
Ages 8-14. No experience needed, just an interest in drama and a willingness to have a go.

We were delighted to take part in 'Rugby Literary Festival 2025'
We had a lot of fun running free storytelling through drama workshops on Sunday 5th October at Rugby theatre as part of The Rugby Literary Festival.

When Peter slips on a mysterious pair of shoes that can talk, every step leads him into unexpected trouble and exciting adventures. This charming and fast paced tale teaches that actions have consequences but that honesty matters and that we can learn from our mistakes.

Not every Cinderella wants to go to the ball!
In this witty re-imagining of the classic fairy tale, a lost trainer sparks an exciting adventure and a well-earned happy ending. It shares a positive message about confidence, fairness, and being true to yourself, showing that success comes from ability and character rather than appearances. Ages 7-11
These are just a few of our most popular stories, but we have many more including classic fairy tales, Three Little Pigs, Ugly Duckling and Hansel and Gretel. We are also able to create workshops from stories you request or to cover specific topics.
